My art has grown from childhood as a natural extension of my love for horses and dogs. As a child I was blessed to be surrounded by numerous ponies and horses, as well as a wide variety of our farm dogs. They were our constant companions. If I couldn't be outside with them then I was constantly drawing them.

As a wife, mother of two wonderful sons, full-time science teacher, avid gardener, and breeder/exhibitor of collies, I have had little time to truly devote to my art. Now that my children are grown and in the process of starting their own lives, my dream of replacing a piece of chalk for a paint brush has become a reality. I find myself ready to begin a new career, thanks to the support and encouragement from "The Three Men" in my life.

It is my desire to give the customer something unique, not mass produced, something that will be treasured, not just for a moment but for many years to come. How often have you dreamed of something you would love to have , but it just couldn't be found? Perhaps because it didn't exist anywhere but in your imagination? AND IF, you did find something was it affordable enough to take home? Well, that is what my work is all about. I will even "dream it up" for you if you need some ideas!!

At this time I am also very active in breeding and exhibiting my collies under the kennel name Southland. I really can not imagine my art without my dogs or my dogs without my art. It has been a happy combination. Because of my involvement in both worlds much of my art has centered around the world of dog shows. I have created numerous logos for kennels as well as kennel clubs. I have also designed the logos for several National Specialty Shows.

Some of my portraits are in the collection of John Buddie. They include Ch. Tartanside Imagination, Ch. Tartanside Fairwind Fantasy, And the great Ch. Tartanside Th' Critics Choice, the top producing collie sire of this century. (Available in a limited edition print)

My pen and ink drawings have appeared in The Collie Club of America Yearbook, The CCA Bulletin, and Collie Expressions magazine.

Although most of the examples I have shown at this website are of collies, I have painted many other breeds for trophies as well as in portraits. Almost everything from Airedales and Aussies to Poodles, Pugs and Pulik.
